I spotted these Asian pears in the supermarket and was intrigued.

They are the same size, colour and consistency as large apples and have a crisp, juicy and very sweet taste...and they are perfect for baking into a crumble!

Ingredients (makes 4 mini crumbles)
2 Ya Li pears, chopped
1/4 cup soft dark brown sugar
Juice of 1 lemon
Grated zest of 1/2 lemon
1 tsp cinnamon powder
1/2 cup plain flour
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/3 cup chilled butter, diced
1 tbsp cocoa
(1) Preheat oven to 180 C.
(2) Mix together the pears, brown sugar, cinnamon, lemon juice and zest and divide between four ramekins.
(3) Put the flour, granulated sugar, cocoa and butter into a bowl and rub together between your fingertips until it becomes like breadcrumbs.
(4) Divide the mixture between the ramekins and push down gently.
(5) Bake for 35 minutes (until bubbling!) and serve warm with cream.

I’ll definitely try this one! I love Ya pears, but they always remain a bit hard.
And, thanks for your visit!
